Food at The Kings

At
The Kings we aim to bring you (where possible) fresh locally sourced organic food
and traditional
fayre. We passionately want to be known for the quality of our pub, our
beer, our wine, our food, our hospitality and our service to you. We
accept that you can't please
all the people all the time but we intend to try our best.
Favourite starters include half kilo mussel
pots with choice of sauce. The 1 kilo mussel pot recently introduced is
now
one of our most popular main courses.
We are known for our fish and chips in our own recipe beer batter. Our
chips are real, chunky and hand cut on the premises
Our meat is supplied by Nicholsons of Whitley Bay which for those who
appreciate the best, it doesn't get much much better. It comes at a
price but is certified British/Northumbrian and organic.
Typical offerings are 8/12oz sirloin steak and top quality
Rib-eye. Our Gammon steaks are of course from the finest
horse shoe cuts.
Our chefs are always striving to bring you some extra soecial dishes, so check out our black boards, before you order.
Home made Traditional fayre such as mince and dumplings or steak and ale pie are
on offer as well as our homemade fishermans pie.
Our new bar snacks include mussels, pint of prawns, and oysters, along with traditional pickled onions and eggs.
Sunday Roasts at the Kings are still only £7.25 despite the
quality locally sourced organic veg and meat.
